Wojanów Palace
The building of Wojanów Palace has maintained its fairylike character. The building raised on a plinth on the plan of a square is decorated by round alcove towers in the corners. The entirety is covered by a steep tent roof. From the side of the garden there is a terrace with stairs leading to the park. On both sides of the palace one may find conservatories.
The history of Wojanów reaches back to the 18th century. Knightly families and, subsequently, among others prominent families of Zedlitz, Schaffgotsch or von Schildau resided in this property. Its architecture is a fine combination of Baroque and Neo-gothic. In the mid-18th century, the property got in the hands of merchant Daniel von Buchs who rebuilt the castle towards the Baroque style. Subsequent owners carried out numerous changes in the building architecture. In the 19th century, a landscape park was established around the building which was located along the Bóbr river. After World War II the palace hosted a state agricultural enterprise (PGR).
Devastated in the post-war years the object was taken over by private owners and, after a costly renovation, it returned to its former prosperity along with the surrounding it outbuildings and manor buildings. At present, the object performs hotel and restaurant functions. Former premises were adopted in a stylish manner. It is visible, among others, in the SPA section with a pool embedded in the historical barn building. Tourists who are not the hotel guests or restaurant clients may sightsee the palace solely from the outside. The building is located right next to the park which leads to the Bóbr riverbank. One may notice the silhouette of the nearby Łomnica Palace between the trees.
